Coastal Gardeners Projects

Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids (HFHK)

Coastal Gardeners partnered with HFHK to put a vegetable garden at Phillip Showell Elementary School in Selbyville to          provide the students with a gardening experience and the opportunity to eat garden-fresh vegetables they've grown.              Coastal Gardeners are recognized in Coastal Point.

Backpacks for Kids

Coastal Gardeners has a strong partnership with Philip Showell Elementary School developed through the HFHK                    gardening experience.  Each year before the start of the school year, we collect school supplies to fill backpacks for the children.

Adopt a Highway

DelDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) Program is a partnership between the Department of Transportation and volunteers, working together to beautify our community, two miles at a time. More than just a cleanup campaign, this innovative program works to educate citizens of all ages about the responsibilities of land stewardship-the care and repair of our environment. Ultimately, the AAH Program is about people caring enough to make a difference.

Garden Therapy

Ongoing collaboration with the Roxanna CHEER Center. The CHEER Center offers a full range of services for mature adults such as healthy mid-day meals, transportation and a variety of activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Coastal Gardeners designed and donated flower arrangements to beautify the social area for sponsored events, worked with Seniors during the Spring Seed Planting Event and donated hundreds of gift bags for Annual Operation Christmas CHEER.  Water Lili and Coastal Gardeners are recognized for Operation Christmas CHEER by Delmarva Life here.
